Accreditation
The Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary is registered in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.  The certificates awarded according to articles 4 and 5 of the constitution, are “based on ecclesiastical and international standards for theological studies meeting special accreditation standards for these studies.” 

JETS has been accredited by the European Evangelical Accrediting Association (EEAA), the Middle East Association for Theological Education (MEATE), and the Asia Theological Association (ATA).


Academic Programs

Preparatory Level:  C.B.S. (Certificate in Biblical Studies - 1 year)
                                D.B.S. (Diploma in Biblical Studies - 2 years)

Basic Level: B.Th. (Certificate in Theological Studies - 4 years)

Explanation of Academic Programs

Preparatory Level

C.B.S. (Certificate in Biblical Studies - 1 year)
D.B.S. (Diploma in Biblical Studies - 2 years)

The purpose of these programs is to ground students in the basics of sound doctrine and give them an overview of the Bible and important Eastern Church history. This will equip students to help in local church ministry, as well as better prepare them to stand strong in their faith when they go on to a secular non-Christian university to complete their education. God may use the one or two years to lead the student to continue on in one of JETS’ B.Th. programs.


Basic Level Programs

There are three Basic Level Programs that JETS currently offers to high school graduates who have completed their High School Tawjihi (or equivalent):

B.Th. in Biblical Studies
B.Th. in Christian Education
B.Th. in Pastoral Ministry

The purpose of all three-year B.Th. programs is to equip servant-leaders for effective ministry throughout the Arab world by giving them a solid foundation of both  the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, as well as a firm grasp of the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith and how they relate to life and cultural issues. Students will be equipped with skills for vocational Christian ministry as pastors, Bible teachers, or leaders of worship and music in local church or parachurch ministries working in the Middle East. Each of the four B. Th. programs are academically rigorous enough to prepare students to undertake higher theological studies, should they sense the Lord leading them to do so.


Advanced Level Programs

M.A.B.S. (Certificate in Biblical Studies - 2 years)

The purpose of this program is to provide a graduate-level Biblical and theological education for Christian men and women who desire to be equipped for various kinds of lay and vocational Christian ministry within a church or parachurch organization. Those who desire full preparation for vocational ministry should apply to either the three-year M.Div. or Th.M..

 
M.A.C.E. (Certificate in Christian Education - 2 years)

The purpose of this program is to provide graduate-level Biblical and theological education for Christian men and women who sense God’s calling to a vocational ministry as a Christian education specialist in the local church or parachurch organization. Graduates of this program will be equipped for positions of leadership in children, youth, and adult ministries, as well as directors of family life education and trainers=2 0of teachers for basic church ministries.

 
M.Div. (Certificate in Theological Studies - 3 years)

This is a 100 hour program designed to equip servant-leaders who can effectively minister throughout the Arab world in vocational Christian ministry,  whether in the church or parachurch organization. Graduates are equipped to serve long-term as pastors, elders, Bible teachers, missionaries, and leaders for Christian  organizations in the Middle East.


M. Div for Students with a JETS B.Th. Degree

Those who have graduated from any of the four B.Th. degree programs are eligible to complete the M.Div. degree program in two years since they will have taken several of the required courses. They must complete an additional 66 credit hours of studies at the graduate level. Any of the following courses already taken at the B.Th. level must be substituted for, first of all, by any courses on the three-year M.Div. program not yet taken.


Th. M. (Certificate in Theological Studies - 4 years) - Generic Program

This program is a 132 hour program that has been designed to equip students to become competent expositors of the Scriptures.  Graduates from these degree programs can serve as pastors, teachers, and leaders in the  church, seminary, or other Christian organization. Graduates of this progr am will also be academically prepared to pursue doctoral degrees.

 
Th. M. (Certificate in Theological Studies - 4 years) - Christian Education Program

This is a 132 hour program designed to make students competent in preparing and delivering expository lessons to all age groups in the church. Graduates of this program can take up positions of lay and vocational teaching and leadership in the local church and Christian organizations. Graduates will also be academically prepared to pursue doctoral degrees in this field.


Th.M. Degree for Students Possessing a JETS B.Th. Degree

Those who have graduated from any of the four B.Th. degree programs offered at JETS are eligible to complete the Th.M. program in three years since they have already taken several of the required courses. They must complete an additional one hundred credit hours of graduate level studies in order to complete the program. The following list shows what courses must generally be taken, but any courses below that the student has already taken must be substituted for, first of all, by any courses on the four-year Th.M. program that the student has not taken before.
